Buying a Digital Camera
Buying a digital camera is something you do not want to do on the spur of the moment. There is no rush, as there are hundreds of models available with a price tag for everyone, from under a hundred dollars to thousands of dollars. The first thing to ask yourself is what do you want to use the camera for. The next question is, how much do you want to spend or how much can you afford. Those are two basic questions that will help decide what to purchase.
If you are buying a digital Camera for the first time, ask some your friends what type of a camera do they have. Do they like it and are they happy with it? How old is it? Features and specifications are changing daily. Stop at a camera store and ask questions. Do not get talked in to buying a digital camera until you are ready and satisfied with your choice. All the salesman wants to do is make a sale, so he will try and talk you into anything he can. Go to a reputable camera store, as they will have a full line of equipment, and will tend to be more honest that a salesman in a big box store.
How do you want to use the camera and for what? If you are just a casual shooter, taking pictures of friends and pets, you will probably want to carry the camera. Get some thing small and light weight that will fit into you purse or pocket. Anything that is too large or heavy you will stop carrying and defeat your purpose for purchasing the camera. Get something simple with few features that is easy to use. Later on if you decide to get more serious, keep what you have, and update to something that will meet you needs.
