John Nicephore Niepce

March 7, 1765 – July 5, 1833


John Niece, a French inventor, was responsible for the first photograph in August of 1825. He also invented the first internal combustion engine with the help of his brother Claude.

Louis Daguerre


November 18, 1787 – July 10, 1851


Louis Daguerre started life as an architect and stage designer is a Paris theater. He used a camera obscura as a aid to painting in perspective . In 1826 he hear of  John Niepce and his work in capturing an image. The two got together and in 1829 they signed a partnership agreement. This did not last very long at Niepce died in 1833. Daguerre continued on with the project and developed the Daguerreotype, Photography now had its start and it is only history as to what happened then.
